Showcasing the ecReUse Pilot Plants
The ecReUse pilot installations at the East Bank Wastewater Treatment Plant were officially introduced during this year’s IMESA Conference in East London. The potential optimization measures for enhancing water and energy security at municipal wastewater treatment plants were first presented in a dedicated technical talk by Dr.-Ing. Manuel Krauss (FiW an der RWTH Aachen e.V.) and Mkhuseli Nongogo (Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality).

Following the presentation, participants joined an on-site technical tour, during which the ecReUse project partners demonstrated the installed technologies and explained the respective optimization approaches directly at the pilot units. Due to the limited number of available tour slots, an additional presentation was offered to the remaining conference attendees. This session – delivered by Dr.-Ing. Manuel Krauss and Victor de Wett (GIBB Pty. Ltd.) – featured comprehensive photo and video documentation to ensure that all participants gained a full overview of the implemented measures.
