ecReUse

Project Structure

Firstly, a comprehensive survey of the local conditions at the wastewater treatment plant in South Africa is carried out. This involves recording technical data and wastewater-related boundary conditions for water reuse. On this basis, the demonstration plants and their integration into the existing system are planned in consultation with the wastewater treatment plant operators.

The plant components required for wastewater treatment and energy generation from sewage sludge are planned, manufactured and integrated into ongoing operations. Operation is monitored continuously to ensure efficiency and reliability.

Accompanying education and training measures ensure that the personnel of the sewage treatment plant operators and participating companies are trained in the safe and proper use of the new technologies.

The project is accompanied by public relations work and comprehensive communication measures. Citizens, political decision-makers and industrial and agricultural companies are informed about the results achieved, which contributes to the dissemination of the technologies.

The project demonstrates how innovative environmental technologies can contribute to the optimisation of South African wastewater treatment plants in order to achieve a more efficient use of water and energy.
